News from Greater Canberra

Greater Brisbane joins the Abundant Housing Network Australia

We’re very happy to see that the pro-housing and urbanist movement is gaining steam around Australia and has recently taken another step forward with the launch of our namesake Greater Brisbane.

The group is a grassroots organisation advocating for ‘a Brisbane where everyone is welcome and has the opportunity to live a good life wherever they want’. We look forward to working with Greater Brisbane as co-partners in the Abundant Housing Network Australia moving forward. If you have friends or family in Brisbane, tell them to join up!

Late last year the National Capital Authority released draft plans to allow for mixed-use development on the former forestry school site in Yarralumla. In our submission on the plans, we call for fewer height restrictions and better active transport connections. Read the full submission on our website.
